You are doing something you haven’t done before.
That’s it.
Of course your thinking wobbles at times. Of course you don’t feel solid every single day. Of course there are moments where you wonder whether you’re cut out for this.
That isn’t a flaw in your character or a lack of confidence. It’s the experience of growth.

This is the part most people miss.
The leaders who never feel unsure are often the ones who aren’t stretching themselves anymore. Same type of work, same level of responsibility, same environment, on repeat.
That can look confident from the outside. But it’s usually comfort, not growth.
Real leadership asks something different of you. New decisions. New visibility. New conversations. New levels of responsibility. And every time you step into unfamiliar territory, your mind does exactly what it’s designed to do – it tries to keep you safe.
It questions. It compares. It throws up “what if” scenarios.

Where business owners tend to get stuck isn’t in the doubt itself, but in how they relate to it.

This is where things get a little uncomfortable for the personal development industry.
Confidence isn’t something you accumulate. You don’t build it brick by brick, and you don’t permanently lose it when things wobble.
Confidence is a state of mind.
Some days your thinking is noisy, pressured, urgent. On those days, confidence feels miles away. Other days, without doing anything differently, it’s just there. You speak more clearly. You decide more easily. You trust yourself again.
Same person. Same capability. Same intelligence.
Different moment.
Once you really see this, you stop chasing confidence and start trusting yourself. And trust, not confidence, is what creates sustainable leadership.
Why Business Feels Heavy (Even When You’re Doing Well)
Most overwhelmed leaders don’t actually need better strategies.
What they need is relief from the constant self-monitoring.
Am I doing enough?
Am I behind?
Am I missing something everyone else seems to know?
Should this feel easier by now?
